Dr Zafrullah’s health deteriorates
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s personal physician Professor ABM Abdullah visited Dr Zafrullah on Monday and gave necessary suggestions regarding his health
Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, who was suffering from post-Covid secondary pneumonia after recovering from the virus, has become ill again.
"His health has deteriorated as he suffered from the disease for a month and is highly dependent on kidney dialysis three times a week," said a Gonoshasthaya Kendra press release.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's personal physician Professor ABM Abdullah visited Dr Zafrullah on Monday and gave necessary suggestions regarding his health.
"The prime minister had asked him to give her updates on Zafrullah's health on a regular basis," read the press release.
It said Dr Zafrullah is very unhappy that the GR Covid-19 Rapid Antibody Kit did not get approval from the Directorate General of Drug Administration (DGDA).
He, however, thanked the DGDA and the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) because of their willingness to help Gonoshasthaya improve the kit.
Gonoshasthaya RNA Biotech Ltd has already come up with an improved version of the kit, and Dr Zafrullah hopes that this one will get DGDA approval.
Despite being ill, Dr Zafrullah is still working on setting up a 15-bed intensive care unit (ICU) in Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital, the press release further said.
