‘Indian media unhappy at mass uprising in Bangladesh; spreading propaganda of Taliban-style govt coming to power’
He said the people of Bangladesh feel that they are being victimised without doing anything wrong
Indian media's unhappiness with the mass uprising in Bangladesh has prompted them to spread propaganda that minorities were being oppressed in Bangladesh and that a Taliban-styled government was coming to power here, Foreign Adviser Touhid Hossain said today (1 December).
Speaking at an event at the Centre for Policy Dialogue auditorium in the capital's Mohakhali, he said chaos and instability had appeared after the mass uprising, but it was short-lived.
The adviser said the situation was brought under control by the current interim government through the help of the students and police.
"Propaganda is being organised not only in India, but all over the world…The people of Bangladesh feel that they are being victimised without doing anything wrong," he said.
He said such a situation wouldn't bring anything good for India or Bangladesh.
Pointing out that CPD has good communication outside South Asia, he asked that they highlight the real situation inside Bangladesh.
The CPD event was organised to celebrate the 30th anniversary of CPD, a private research institute.
