Saifuddin challenges Shakib
The challenge is that Shakib will have to take 22 off Saifuddin’s two overs in the nets with Khaled Mahmud Sujon standing as the umpire.
Challenges are a fun part of every sport, cricket is nothing different. During the coronavirus pandemic, many cricketers have invited their colleagues on a challenge but all of them were online. Now, Bangladesh all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has notched it up a little and has invited his compatriot Shakib Al Hasan on an on-field challenge and Shakib has accepted the challenge.
Saifuddin posted about the challenge on his verified Facebook page on Friday. The challenge is that Shakib will have to take 22 off Saifuddin's two overs in the nets with Khaled Mahmud Sujon standing as the umpire.
"Today I have invited Shakib bhai to a challenge. I will bowl a couple of overs and he will have to score 22 runs of them. Sujon (Khaled Mahmud) sir will be standing as umpire. Fun fact is, Shakib bhai has already accepted the challenge," Saifuddin's post read.
It also said, "Even though Shakib bhai has more supporters, I am asking for prayers. After returning to the field post-coronavirus, Almighty willing, we will celebrate Shakib bhai's return."
Saifuddin is considered to be one of the country's best death over specialist whereas Shakib Al Hasan is arguably Bangladesh's greatest cricketing talent.
The date and time of the challenge is yet to be disclosed.
