The ferry movement resumed between Paturia-Daulatdia after almost 9 hours of suspension due to dense fog, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia-Ghat sources said.
The Deputy General Manager (DGM) BIWTC Paturia Ghat Nasir Mahmud Chowdhury told BSS the ferry movement was suspended at 12.30 am for poor visibility as the dense fog blanketed the river bed, adding that the ferry movement resumed at 9am today (11 December).
BIWTC sources said about 150 vehicles including passenger buses, Private cars, and goods-laden trucks were waiting for ferrying on both sides of the Padma.
Two ferries Shah Ali and Dhanshiri were anchored in the middle of the Jamuna River with vehicles and passengers.
DGM also said all the ferries are running now normally.
