DSEX falls for fifth consecutive day
The benchmark index, DSEX, of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) lost 42 points today (11 December), marking its fifth consecutive day of decline.
The daily turnover also dropped significantly, falling by 21% compared to the previous session.
At the close of the day, the DSEX stood at 5,124 points, while the blue-chip index, DS30, declined by 14 points to settle at 1,889.
The turnover value fell to Tk304 crore, down from Tk383 crore in the previous trading session.
Out of the traded securities, 50 stocks advanced, 291 declined, and 58 remained unchanged.
Asiatic Laboratories led the turnover list, followed by Beximco Pharma, Dragon Sweater, Orion Pharma, and Orion Infusion.
HR Textile emerged as the top gainer of the day. Khan Brothers PP Woven Bag recorded the worst performance in the market.
