UCB introduces country’s first international cyber security bachelor’s degree
Universal College Bangladesh (UCB) has introduced a global bachelor's degree in Cyber Security, bringing world-class international education opportunities closer to Bangladeshi students.
Through its collaboration with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) in the UK, UCB is offering the country's first-ever three-year degree in Cyber Security.
The Cyber Security degree has been designed entirely by UCL an, ensuring a global standard of education for Bangladeshi students. Students can complete their whole degree in Dhaka or move to the UK to study for one or two years. The program features a team of distinguished lecturers who have been approved by UCLan and have studied at leading universities. The world-class faculty will ensure a robust academic foundation for UCB students by emphasising practical skills and incorporating labs, workshops, and real-world scenarios, equipping students for real-life professional challenges.
Benefitting from UCLan's collaboration with the Lancashire Cyber Partnership (LCP) and the National Cyber Force (NCF) of the UK, the UCB program will provide students with unique networking opportunities to gain a competitive edge in their careers. The graduates of the BSc in Cyber Security programme will be equipped to pursue diverse roles in various cyber sectors, including Cyber Security Analyst, Penetration Tester, Network Security Engineer, Digital Forensics Investigator, Information Security Consultant, and more.
President and Provost of Universal College Bangladesh, Professor Hew Gill said, "Cybersecurity professionals are in high demand globally. Our latest UK degree programme will help Bangladeshi students gain world-class knowledge and secure high-paying jobs. Our students can work anywhere in the global IT sector with a UK Cyber Security degree."
Admission has already started for the first intake, and classes will start on 14 January 2025. Admission will continue until the end of January 2025. Students who have completed their HSC, A Levels, or equivalent are eligible for the Cyber Security degree. They can also opt for UK Business and Marketing and Software Engineering degrees.
