EWU arranges a merit scholarship awarding ceremony
East West University (EWU) awarded 219 Summer and Fall Semester 2024 students the Merit Scholarship Award for their excellent academic performance.
Most of the scholarship recipients students were female. The ceremony occurred on January 12, 2025, at the Manzur Elahi Auditorium of EWU, Aftabnagar, Dhaka.
Mr Farooque B Chaudhury, an EWU Board of Trustees member, was the Chief Guest. Professor Dr. Shams Rahman, Vice-Chancellor of EWU, presided over the ceremony as the Program Chair.

In his address, Mr Chaudhury congratulated the scholarship recipients and emphasised the importance of academic excellence and dedication. He expressed his pride in the students' achievements and encouraged them to strive for excellence in their future endeavours.
Professor Dr. Shams Rahman highlighted the university's commitment to fostering a supportive and enriching academic environment. He acknowledged the hard work and perseverance of the students, particularly noting the significant number of female recipients, and reiterated EWU's dedication to promoting gender equality in education.
Several dignitaries attended the program, including Professor Dr Ashik Mosaddik, Pro Vice Chancellor, Deans, Faculty Members, Officers of EWU, scholarship recipients, and their guardians.
