Pubali Bank appoints Sultana Sarifun Nahar as DMD
Pubali Bank PLC has appointed Sultana Sarifun Nahar as its new Deputy Managing Director (DMD), making history as the first woman to hold this prestigious position at the bank.
Prior to this appointment, Sultana served as the General Manager and Head of the Principal Branch. She holds a postgraduate degree from Eden Mohila College, affiliated with the University of Dhaka, and began her career as a lecturer in economics. She also served as an examiner for the Dhaka Education Board.
Sultana started her banking career at Pubali Bank in 1997 as a Probationary Senior Officer. Over the years, she has held several key positions, including manager at corporate branches and Regional Head of the Dhaka Central Region. In these roles, she significantly contributed to improving the quality of banking services.

Sultana has also participated in numerous seminars and training programs both in Bangladesh and internationally, further honing her professional expertise.
She is the daughter of Mohammad Abdul Majid and Ambia Khatun and a proud mother of two sons. Sultana is a lifelong member of the Bangladesh Economic Association and an active member of Old Scout and DUA.
