All political parties have reached a consensus about an inclusive July Proclamation recognising the contributions of all parties that participated in last year's mass uprising, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Adviser Asif Nazrul said today (16 January).
"An inclusive July Proclamation will be prepared to acknowledge the contributions of all. It may take more time but we'll have to remain alert that time is not wasted," he said after a meeting of political parties with Chief Adviser (CA) Muhammad Yunus at the Foreign Service Academy in the capital.
"A work plan will be prepared over the July Proclamation based on consensus," he added.
The interim government sat in an 'all-party' meeting to finalise the July Proclamation based on a 'national consensus'.
BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed and representatives of other political parties joined the meeting at the Foreign Service Academy.
According to the CA's Press Wing, the declaration will be adopted to solidify the unity of people forged through the July uprising, reflecting its anti-fascist spirit and the demand for state reforms.
The draft will incorporate the views of all political parties and students, including those of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement that spearheaded the mass uprising.
The declaration will articulate the perspective of the July uprising, the foundation of unity and the aspirations of the people, the press wing noted.
The government expressed optimism that the declaration would be prepared unanimously with participation from all stakeholders and then presented to the nation.
