The Bangladesh Coast Guard has successfully seized 250,000 Yaba pills during an anti-drug operation conducted early this morning in the sea area adjacent to West Point of Patenga beach in Chittagong.
Lieutenant Commander Md Siam-ul-Haq, the Coast Guard Headquarters' media officer, provided this information during an afternoon press briefing.
He stated that BCGS Shyamal Bangla operated under the East Zone of the Bangladesh Coast Guard based on credible intelligence. The Yaba pills were ingeniously concealed within an oil drum in the engine room of an abandoned fishing boat.
Lieutenant Commander Haq further mentioned that the Coast Guard remains committed to implementing the government's zero-tolerance policy on drug control through continuous anti-drug operations. The seized Yaba pills are currently being processed for destruction in coordination with the Narcotics Control Department.
