I will marry after Afghanistan win the World Cup: Rashid
The leg-spinner vowed that he will only get married after winning the World Cup with Afghanistan.
It has not been long since Afghanistan have started playing top-flight cricket. For a team like this, participating in World Cups is crucial and the Afghans have done so for now but have never qualified for the knockout stages. But Rashid Khan, the Afghan star has taken up a stern vow to change that.
The leg-spinner vowed that he will only get married after winning the World Cup with Afghanistan. In an interview with Afghanistan's Radio Azadi, Rashid took the oath when the interviewer asked him about his marriage plans.
"I will get married after Afghanistan wins the World Cup," Rashid said.
Rashid has a lot of time in his hand as he is only 21 years old and has three World Cups coming up in the next three years. Before the 2023 Cricket World Cup, Afghanistan will have the chance to participate in two World T20s. Playing in the ODI World Cup is a little difficult for the Afghans as they have to go through qualifiers to book a place in the tournament. In such a situation, the oath is a huge challenge for Rashid.
Rashid debuted in international cricket in 2015. He has played four Tests, 71 ODIs and 48 T20Is for Afghanistan and is the country's leading wicket-taker in all three formats.
