Capital market investors to hold protest rally Monday
They requested all investors across the country to join the rally
A group of capital market investors has announced that they will hold a protest rally at Motijheel in the capital on Monday amid the continuous downtrend in the market.
In a press conference today (1 February), the Bangladesh Capital Market Investor Association stated that it will hold the protest rally in front of the DSE building at Motijheel, where political leaders from various parties are expected to attend.
SM Iqbal Hossain, spokesperson of the association, read out the written statement, while coordinator Nurul Islam Manik and another spokesperson, Farid Ahmed, along with other investors, were present.
Iqbal said, "We will arrange the protest rally with affected investors of the capital market. We are requesting all investors across the country to join us in the rally to protect their investments and build a transparent and prosperous capital market in the future."
He continued, "We urge them to gather at DSE at 2pm to raise their voices and make the rally a success.
"We strongly condemn and protest the actions of certain large merchant brokerage houses, which threatened their staff against attending the rally.
"We call upon all stakeholders in the capital market to extend their sincere cooperation in saving the stock market and protecting investors from their respective positions."
