Travel ban imposed on ex-NBR member Matiur's daughter Ipsita
The court also ordered authorities concerned to seize her income tax files
A Dhaka court today (3 February) imposed a travel ban on Farzana Rahman Ipsita, daughter of former member of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Matiur Rahman.
The court also ordered authorities concerned to seize her income tax files.
Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the orders, allowing separate pleas filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
The ACC in its plea said the anti-graft body is probing allegations of concealing information about the wealth of Tk2.45 crore. She is also accused of amassing illegal wealth of Tk53.41 crore and keeping those under her possession.
Detective Branch (DB) of police on 15 January arrested Matiur Rahman and his first wife Laila Kaniz from the city's Bashundhara area.
Matiur became a subject of controversy due to a high-profile and expensive sacrificial goat, which was booked by his son.
