Sheikh Selim’s house in Banani vandalised, set on fire

A group of angry locals vandalised and set the residence of Awami League presidium member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim on fire in the early hours today (7 February).
According to a businessman whose office is adjacent to Sheikh Selim's residence in Banani, a group of youths, aged between 25 and 30, attacked the building around 12:30am, striking it with hammers and iron rods.
Later, they set the house on fire around 2am, said the businessman.

When contacted, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Gulshan zone Assistant Commissioner Md Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury declined to comment on the incident.
