Former army chief Moeen U Ahmed's Noakhali home set on fire
No one was in the homes during the time of the attacks
The ancestral home of former army chief Moeen U Ahmed in Noakhali's Begumganj Upazila was vandalised and set on fire today (7 February).
At the same time, the house of former mayor of the neighboring Chowuhani Municipality Akhter Hossain was also vandalised.
These incidents occurred around 8pm yesterday.
On information, two separate teams of security forces and police visited the scene.
Police and locals said around 8pm, more than a hundred teenagers and young men armed with sticks attacked the house of former army chief Moeen U Ahmed.
The attackers also vandalised and looted the two-storey house of former vice-president of the district Awami League, and younger brother of former army chief, Jabed U Ahmed, and set fire to the sofa in the drawing room.
No one was in the homes during the time of the attacks.
