Akshay Kumar donates Rs 1 crore for Assam flood victims
The state Chief Minister of Assam took to twitter to thank the actor for the generous donation.
Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has donated Rs crore for flood relief in Assam.
The actor has been working actively involved in the humanitarian work. In March, the actor donated Rs 25 crore in the PM-CARES fund for pandemic relief.
The state Chief Minister of Assam took to twitter to thank the actor for the generous donation.
"Thank you @akshaykumar ji for your kind contribution of ₹1 crore towards Assam flood relief. You have always shown sympathy and support during periods of crisis. As a true friend of Assam, may God shower all blessings to you to carry your glory in the global arena," The Minister wrote in his tweet.
He further praised Kumar for showing 'sympathy and support' during the period of crisis.
Other Bollywood stars have also come forward to help in this time of growing distress in Assam. Priyanka Chopra Jonas and her husband also donated an undisclosed amount to the Assam relief fund.
Chopra was previously the brand ambassador of Assam, from 2016 to 2019.
On August 2, it was reported that Assam's flood situation has significantly improved. But around nine lakh people in 1,087 villages continue to be distressed as a result of the flood.
