Batman video game ‘Gotham Knights’ revealed at DC FanDome
Players won't have "batman" as a playable character in this installment, as the game's story begins after Batman's death.
After years of speculation, a new Batman game has officially been announced at the DC FanDome. And it's already got fans hyped up.
The new game titled "Gotham Knights" was revealed this Saturday at the DC FanDome's virtual event.
"Gotham Knights" will be developed by the acclaimed WB games Montreal. It's the studio behind some of the most iconic games from DC universe. Notably games from the "Arkham" series.
However, it's not centered on a typical Batman narrative. The game won't even have Batman as a playable character. Considering the game's story focuses on the city after Bruce Wayne's death. Without Batman the thugs rule the streets.
Batman's protégés Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing and the Red Hood emerge as the city's new protectors. After Batman reveals the bat cave is destroyed and that "Gotham will need its protectors more than ever."
The game is set to release in 2021. It made headlines amidst a strong lineup in the DC FanDome's virtual event.
Fans are eager to see how the new heroes will restore order in Gotham, in the absence of the Batman.
