Afif focusing on improving his batting
Afif said that he discussed his batting technique with the former Bangladesh batting coach Neil McKenzie and believes that implementing them will help him do better.
Despite Bangladesh's Sri Lanka tour being almost two months away, the cricketers are already working on their skills and fitness at Mirpur as they had limited to no opportunities to do during the lockdown.
More than 20 cricketers are working on themselves across the country and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already informed that they will be touring Sri Lanka with a squad of 20-22 players to have enough options in their hand.
One of the players among them is Afif Hossain. The 20-year old allrounder did his bit of training on Sunday and said that he was focusing on doing well in the upcoming matches.
"When cricket was at a halt, it was a tough time as a cricketer. It is a good thing that cricket is returning. I hope to do well in the coming matches and I am training focusing on that," Afif said in a video message sent by BCB.
He also added that he discussed his batting technique with the former Bangladesh batting coach Neil McKenzie and believes that implementing them will help him do better.
"I got a lot of time to think about my batting during this lockdown. I worked with our former batting coach Neil McKenzie on some of my batting techniques online. For now, I am trying to implement those as I believe that if I can fix those in my batting, I will do better," Afif added.
Afif has so far played 12 T20Is and a sole ODI for Bangladesh, securing one man of the match award.
