e-Cab forms committee to review Evaly’s business
The committee comprises four teachers from Dhaka University and an e-Cab representative
The e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-Cab) has formed a seven-member committee to review Evaly's business strategies.
The committee has been formed in the light of recent newspaper reports about Evaly, an e-Cab member, and the Bangladesh Competition Commission's seeking info on it, according to a press release, signed by Mohammad Sahab Uddin, vice-president of e-Cab.
The committee comprises four teachers from Dhaka University and an e-Cab representative.
Two members have expertise on payment and one on international business, while there are also an e-commerce strategist and an e-commerce researcher and a lawyer in the committee.
The committee members are Dr BM Moinul Hossain, associate professor at Institute of Information Technology of Dhaka University; Dr Rafi Uddin Ahmed, associate professor at the marketing department of Dhaka University; Md Iftekharul Amin, associate professor at IBA of Dhaka University; Dr Subarna Barua, assistant professor at Department of International Business, University of Dhaka; Faisal Mahmud Sajib, ACA at Founder & Partner: Assicifintax; Barrister Shawn S Noble (Shawn Nobel & Associate) and Sadruddin Imran, chairman of Consulting Pvt Ltd.
The committee will submit a report within the next 10 days after looking into Evaly's business practices, multi-level marketing probability, legal aspects of various offers, and complaints from buyers and consumers.
Besides, a five-member coordination committee of e-Cab has been formed to assist this committee.
In the press release, e-Cab said it welcomes the investigation into the allegations based on the newspapers' reports.
Recently, different media reported that Evaly, an e-commerce company, has been doing aggressive business that triggered many allegations of cheats.
