Chargesheet against Regent hospital’s chairman in Satkhira arms case

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has filled two separate charge sheets at court against Regent Hospital's chairman Shahed Karim alleging illegal possession of arms, ammunition, and Indian rupees in a case filed at Satkhira's Debhata police station.
RAB-6 Satkhira camp Sub-inspector (SI) Rezaul Islam, investigating officer of the case, filed the charge sheets in the court of Amoli Adalat-7 of judge Rajib Kumar Roy on Wednesday afternoon after one month and 23 days.
Satkhira court SI Montajuddin said an investigation report has been submitted to the court in a case filed against Shahed at Debhata police station for possession of arms and Indian rupees.
The charge sheet has been filed only against Shahed. Besides, an unidentified person named Bachchu Majhi and another anonymous person have been dropped from the case.
RAB arrested Shahed on July 15, while he was wearing a burqa from under the Bailey Bridge in the Komarpur border area of Debhata Upazila in Satkhira, while he was fleeing to India.
They seized a pistol, three bullets and 2,330 Indian rupees, and he was then taken to Dhaka by helicopter. The case was registered at Debhata police station.
