3 held with 1400kg hilsa in Satkhira
The smugglers were using a pickup truck to smuggle the hilsas to India
Border Guard Bangladesh has detained 3 suspected smugglers from Jhaudanga Border of Satkhira on Tuesday while they were attempting to smuggle 1,400kg of hilsa to India.
They are Ferdous Bodu from Barguna, Bacchu Talukder from Patuakhali and Humayun Kabir from Jashore.
In a press release issued on Tuesday, Satkhira 33 BGB Captain Lt Col Golam Mohiuddin Khandaker said, "The smugglers were using a pickup truck to smuggle the hilsas to India. We built a checkpoint on a tip-off and seized 1,400kg of hilsa from the smugglers."
