Stocks down at opening
DSEX slightly went down by 0.95 points to settle at 4,977 till 11:30 am and CASPI declined 8 points to close at 14,201 in the corresponding period
Equity benchmark indices of the stock exchanges witnessed a negative trend in the first one-and-half-hour trading session on Sunday.
DSEX, the prime index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) slightly went down by 0.95 points to settle at 4,977 till 11:30 am.
However, turnover on the DSE trading floor increased by 28% to Tk412.49 crore in the corresponding period.
Out of the 350 issues traded during the same time frame, DSE had 136 gainers against 150 losers, while prices of 64 scrips remained unchanged.
Sandhani Life Insurance Company Limited was the most traded stock till filing of this report with shares worth Tk372.9 million changing hands, closely followed by Eastland Insurance Company Limited, Sonar Bangla Insurance Limited, Pioneer Insurance Company Limited, Asia Pacific General Insurance Company Limited, GSP Finance Company (Bangladesh) Limited.
Meanwhile, the benchmark index CASPI at the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) declined 8 points to close at 14,201 till 11:30 am today.
Of the total 199 issues traded till then, 81 gained, 81 declined, and 37 issues remained unchanged with Tk94 million in turnover.
