Four arrested over bank security guard murder in Brahmanbaria
Police are trying to arrest the other two accused
Police have arrested four people in connection with the murder of the security guard of Bangladesh Development Bank Limited (BDBL) Ashuganj branch in Brahmanbaria.
The arrestees are Jamal Hossain, 24, Md Jamil, 28, Saddam Hossain, 27 and Masum Kabir, 38.
"They were arrested in a drive conducted at various places in Ashuganj upazila on September 29 midnight," said Brahmanbaria Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohammad Anisur Rahman at a press conference held at his office on Wednesday.
"The murder intended to loot the money of the bank. Jamal Hossain, the prime accused, has given a confessional statement before the Senior Judicial Magistrate's Court," said the SP.
A looted laptop and Tk5,000 were recovered from the arrestees. Police are trying to arrest the other two accused and recover the two keys that were lost from the bank, he added.
Earlier on September 26, police recovered the body of the 23-year-old guard, Rajesh Biswas, covered with blood and limbs tied, from the Ashuganj upazila branch of the bank.
However, the miscreants could not loot the money as they could not break the vault of the bank.
