Upcoming tournaments will be bigger and better : BCB President

The long wait has finally come to an end. What stopped back in March due to the coronavirus outbreak has resumed in Mirpur. The BCB President's Cup kicked-off yesterday where Mahumudullah XI and Najmul XI faced each other. Najmul XI came out victorious in the opening match, but the bigger news was cricket's return after a long unprecedented break.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is now planning to take a step forward and organise even bigger competition once the President's Cup ends. A corporate T20 tournament possibly of five teams is in their plan. Then, the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) may also resume. Board president, Nazmul Hasan Papon said yesterday that this President's Cup is only the first step towards returning to competitive cricket. He is hopeful of making the upcoming T20 tournament even bigger and better. 
The BCB has already planned of organising a Corporate T20 tournament which may have five teams and foreign players may be featuring as well. 
"The President's Cup is just the first step. We will be organising more tournaments soon, and those will be bigger and better. Nothing has been finalised about bringing foreign players yet. There are still few concerns and the situation is not totally favorable yet.. So we will have to wait on that a bit longer," Papon said.
Papon also said these tournaments will mainly focus on bringing cricketers to full rhythm and prepare them for the upcoming hectic international schedule that the Tigers have. "Our focus is not to earn money from these tournaments. Match fitness is important. Even if we bring foreign players, we will definitely maintain the standard," Papon said.
The BCB President's cup will see almost 50 players playing against each other. The final will be held on October 23 in Mirpur.
