IMO introduces enhanced user protection

IMO, a global instant communication platform, has introduced a new security feature - phone number verification system - to protect personal information when users switch their cell phone numbers.

The new security feature has an enhanced protection level for the security and privacy of the users' IMO accounts, says a press release.

Generally, when a phone number has not been used for one to two years, telecom operators recycle the number and reassign it to a new user. Therefore, an IMO account set up with a recycled number will give the user an access to the previous user's data due to account synchronization.

In order to solve this common issue facing many instant communication apps worldwide, IMO has introduced the new security feature.

Under the new policy, the associated mobile number for the account will be automatically unregistered if an IMO account is inactive for a certain period of time. Now the new user can register an IMO account without the risk of revealing their personal information to other people or accessing the personal information of the previous user. 

Moreover, if an IMO associated phone number doesn't match with the device phone number, IMO will advise users to change their number to the current one.

IMO has also introduced a new method to protect the account security and privacy of the existing users.

Through its comprehensive security technology, IMO can now detect if a phone number is aligned with the IMO user's associated phone number. If not, users will be prompted in the app to change to the current mobile number.
