Govt extends Mujib Year’s duration till 16 December next year
The government has extended Mujib Year till 16 December next year in light of the Covid-19 situation the country is currently experiencing.
On Tuesday, the cabinet division issued a gazette notification declaring the extension.
The government had declared 17 March 2020 to 26 March 2021 as Mujib Year to celebrate the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
But the events being planned could not be properly executed on time owing to the coronavirus pandemic, the notification added.
