Skilled police a must for quality service: IGP
Changes have been made in police training and the training modules have also been redesigned, he said.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed has asked the Bangladesh Police Academy to make a skilled police force in a bid to provide a quality service to the people.
"We want skilled policemen and quality service from the force. It's the responsibility of the police training center to make a skilled force. Bangladesh Police Academy has to play a key role in this regard," he said.
The chief of Bangladesh Police made the remarks while exchanging views with senior officers and trainers of the Bangladesh Police Academy, Sardah in Rajshahi on Monday, said a press release.

Academy's principal Khandaker Golam Faruque presided over the meeting.
The IGP also urged the trainers of the academy to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and importance.
"We don't want to see corrupt police in the force who misbehave with the people. We want to clean up the mess from the force. We want good cops. I want to build Bangladesh Police as a people's police," he also said.
"We have initiated changes in the police. We need to change. It is the demand of the era, the demand of the time," the IGP added.
He said changes have been made in police training and training modules have also been redesigned. However, the force wants to proper use of the training in providing services to people.
Earlier in the morning, the IGP inspected the preparations for the 37th Assistant Superintendent of Police Training Completion Parade to be held on January 3 at the Parade Ground of the Academy.
