SME Foundation and Association of Fashion Designers of Bangladesh will jointly organize the festival for the second time
The four-day-long Heritage Handloom Festival- 2019 is going to kick off on Wednesday in Dhaka.
SME Foundation and Association of Fashion Designers of Bangladesh will jointly organize the festival for the second time.
A total of 45 stalls will display different types of historical cottage industry products during the festival scheduled to be held at Gardenia Grand Hall in Gulshan from October 23 to 26.
The festival will also include folk music and cultural function, fashion show, seminar, and matchmaking event between seller and buyers, said a press release by the SME Foundation.
Planning Minister MA Mannan will inaugurate the festival as the chief guest at 5pm on the day while Kamal Ahmed Majumder, state minister for industries and KM Khalid, state minister for culture will be present as special guests. SME Foundation Chairperson KM Habib Ullah will preside over the function.
Besides, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun will be present at the finaly day of the festival on October 26.
The second day of the festival has been reserved only for foreign visitors which include foreign ambassadors and embassy officials along with others. The day has been marked as the "friends of Bangladesh day". Dr Gowher Rizvi, advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on International Relation Affairs will be present on the day as special guest.
The organisers expressed that this kind of festival will cooperate in boosting the small and medium industries in the country.
