Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained an Indian National along with 10 gold bars from Benapole border area in Jashore on Thursday.
The detainee was identified as Gopal Sarkar, 58, a resident of Baniyar Kalyani area of 24 Parganas district in India.
Lt Colonel Imran Ullah Sarkar, commanding officer of BGB-21 battalion, said acting on a tip-off, a team of BGB conducted a drive in Benapole border area and detained Gopal. The law enforcers seized 10 gold bars from his possession.
