Five children killed in balloon gas cylinder blast at capital’s Mirpur
Two more kids are in critical condition
Five children have been killed on the spot and seven injured in a balloon gas cylinder blast at capital's Mirpur today.
Four of the deceased are Ramzan, 8, Nupur, 7, Shaheen, 9, Farzana, 6. Identity of another kid, 7, could not be known immediately.
Rupnagar police station Officer-in-Charge Depak Kumar Das confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
The injured are Jannat, 25, Zubayer, 8, Sadekur, 10, Naheed, 7, Jamil, 14, Mariyam, 8/9 and another unidentified person, 30.
Fire service control room's duty officer Rasel Shikhder said two firefighting units rushed to the spot after hearing the news of cylinder blast.
The injured were taken to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit of Dhaka Medical College Hospital after the accident. Two of the injured kids are in critical condition.
