Injured in bear attack: Grandfather, grandson on their way to recovery
Earlier on 26 February, Yang Wai Murang (48) and his grandson Mongolio Murang (7) were critically injured in a bear attack in Bandarban
Yang Wai Murang and his grandson Mongolio Murang, who were critically injured in a bear attack in Bandarban are now recovering.
They are currently under treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CHMC).
According to the doctors, the patients are out of danger and can return home in a week.

Earlier, on 26 February, Mongolio Murang and his grandfather were critically injured after a bear attacked them.
They were later transported to Chattogram Medical College Hospital by army helicopter for treatment.
On 4 March, CMCH authorities held a press conference regarding the overall condition of the two injured.
Brigadier General S M Humayun Kabir, director of Chattogram Medical College Hospital, said "Yang Wai Murang and Mongolio Murang are in better condition now. The prompt response from the army has certainly played a significant role in their better treatment."
"We were informed when the army was bringing them to the hospital so we were prepared for their treatment. Both the grandfather and the grandson were in very critical condition."
According to the CMCH director, a medical board was formed consisting of the chiefs of various departments of the hospital to ensure proper treatment of the injured.
According to hospital sources, both the patient underwent several operations after being admitted. Yang Wai Murang's eye was damaged in the attack, which had to be removed. Mongolio Murang's skull was severely damaged as well.
Talking to The Business Standard, the family members of Yang and Mongolio expressed sincere gratitude to the army and the hospital authorities for their cooperation which helped to secure proper treatment for the two.
