HC orders reappointment of 28 Grameen Telecom employees
Grameen Telecom authorities had fired 99 workers in a single notice without consulting the organisation’s CBA leaders.
The High Court (HC) has ordered the reappointment of 28 sacked employees of Grameen Telecom.
The bench of Justice Mohammad Mojibur Rahman Mia and Justice Mohammad Kamrul Hossain Mollah on Sunday passed the order after hearing a writ petition filed by them, seeking their reappointment in the organisation.
Advocate Yusuf Ali appeared for the writ petition while Deputy Attorney General Nowroz Md Russell Chowdhury for the state in the court.

Later, Advocate Yusuf Ali told reporters that the Grameen Telecom authorities had terminated 99 workers by issuing a single notice without consulting the organisation's collective bargaining agent (CBA) leaders.
The notice was signed by Grameen Telecom Managing Director Md Ashraful Hasan.
After that, 28 sacked employees filed a writ petition in the High Court challenging the notice.
The HC today stayed the termination order of 28 workers and ordered their reappointment after hearing the writ petition.
Earlier, the High Court had ordered the reappointment of 38 Grameen Telecom employees.
For not complying with the order, the HC on 18 February summoned Nobel laureate economist Dr Muhammad Yunus and the company's managing director Ashraful Hasan to appear before it.
Later on 16 March, they appeared in court virtually and apologized and informed the court that the 38 had been reappointed.
