Rail link on Chattogram-Dhaka-Sylhet route resume after 8 hours
Train communication on Chattogram-Dhaka-Sylhet route started from 11am after two intercity trains collided in Brahmanbaria's Kasba at around 3am Tuesday.
Akhaura Railway Police Station's Officer-in-Charge Shyamol Kanti Das confirmed the matter to The Business Standard.
At least 16 people were killed and dozens injured as Udayan Express and Turna Nishita trains had a collision at Mandabhag rail station on Dhaka-Sylhet route.
Rail communication on the route was immediately suspended after the accident.
Ten people died on the spot, while three died at Kasba Upazila Health Complex, two at Brahmanbaria Sadar Hospital and one at Cumilla Medical College Hospital.
