I don’t have strength to say anything: Sabina Yasmin
The news of veteran actress Sarah Begum Kabori's death rendered renowned singer Sabina Yasmin speechless.
"I don't really have the strength to say anything. What can I say about Kabori? How much can I say? I really can't say anything," she told The Business Standard on Saturday.
Sabina Yasmin and Kabori have been friends for more than four decades and Kabori lip-synced to many of her songs on the screen.
Recently, Kabori made Sabina the music director for her latest directed film "Ei Tumi Sei Tumi". The film wrapped shooting and is in post-production.
"I pray for eternal peace of my friend's departed soul. I can't say anything else for now," she said.
Kabori breathed her last at 12:20am Saturday in Sheikh Russel Gastro Liver Institute and Hospital, Dhaka, her son Shaker Chisty confirmed.
She caught a fever and tested positive for Covid-19 recently. She was hospitalised on 7 April. As her condition deteriorated, doctors put her on life support.
She has been laid to eternal rest at the Banani graveyard in Dhaka, followed by her namaz-e-janaza and state guard of honour.
