Australia put up small total as English bowlers impress
Australia were all-out for 223 in their semifinal clash against England at Edgbaston.
Even after a fighting 85 from Steve Smith, Australia are done and dusted for 223.
Australia opted to bat first after winning the toss but the decision backfired as they were 14-3 within the seventh over. Alex Carey and Smith tried to rebuild but Carey returned for 46 as he holed out to deep mid-wicket off Adil Rashid. Soon after Carey's dismissal, Rashid trapped Marcus Stoinis LBW with a googly. Maxwell and Smith's short stint ended with Archer picking up Maxwell.
The 51-run stand between Smith and Starc for the eighth wicket showed some hopes to the Aussies, but after Smith was run out by a brilliant throw from Butler, they collapsed and were bowled out for 223.
England would need to chase down 224 in order to reach their fourth World Cup final.
