Shakib's Antaratma will not be released on Eid after all
In Antaratma, another actress from Tollywood, Darshana Banik, worked with Shakib
In October last year, the government allowed cinema halls to open on the condition that they would maintain health safety rules. Several movies were released after that. No movies of the dhallywood king Shakib however were on that list.
This year, several Shakib Khan movies are now ready for release, including the much anticipated Bikkhov.
Shakib has also signed up for several other films. But the shooting has not started for any of those films due to Covid-19. However, last month, great news came for Shakib's fans, as it was reported that he had started shooting for a new movie titled Antaratma targeting the upcoming Eid.
The director and producer of Antaratma are Wazed Ali Sumon and Shohani Hossain. Shohani also produced Shakib's Satta several years back. The original stories of Satta and Antaratma were also written by her.
In Antaratma, another actress from Tollywood, Darshana Banik, worked with Shakib. Recently, Darshana acted in a Bollywood movie with Imran Hashmi which is awaiting release. Besides, Darshana has also appeared in the Byomkesh-7 series of OTT platform Hoi Choi.
Director Wazed Ali Sumon has already finished shooting Antaratma. The shooting took place in a resort in Pabna. It took a month to complete the whole shooting. The director said that the shooting was done in compliance with the health rules.
However, Shakib Khan was injured during the shooting. He got an eye injury while performing a dance scene with the heroine. It was not too serious. He has already returned to Dhaka.
He is now preparing to act in a new film. The shooting will start once the lockdown is over.
Director Wazed Ali Sumon said they planned to release Antaratma during Eid. Although the shooting is complete, it will not be possible to release it.
"We finished shooting just before the latest lockdown. Now post-production work for the film is going on in India. The film was planned for release on Eid. But it is not possible to release the film on Eid as the lockdown has started anew and everything could not be completed on time,' he said.
"There is no point in releasing the film in this situation. People cannot go to cinema halls at this moment. We make movies for the people. We will release it when the situation is normal," he added.
