One more election commission staff remanded over NID scam
Officials of Counter Terrorism unit on Monday arrested Nazim for his alleged involvement in assisting Rohingyas obtain National Identity Cards
A Chattogram court placed a staff of the Election Commission on a four-day remand in a case filed over National Identity Card (NID) forgery for Rohingyas.
Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Mehnaj Rahman passed the order on Tuesday after Nazim Uddin, office assistant of Chattogram district Election Commission office, was produced before the court.
Rajesh Baruwa, inspector of Counter Terrorism and Transitional unit of Chattogram Metropolitan Police and also the investigation officer of the case, produced him before the CMM court with a prayer for remand.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (prosecution) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police Md Kamruzzaman said police sought a seven-day remand for him but the court granted four days remand.
