United States opens new student advising center in Khulna
Bangladesh now ranks in the top 20 countries of origin for international students in the United States
US Embassy Dhaka has opened a new EducationUSA (EdUSA) Student Advising Center in Khulna.
The center was established in celebration of International Education Week on November 25.
It is situated in the American Corner Khulna, on the campus of Northern University of Business and Technology.
Khulna EdUSA center will offer group information sessions and individual counseling services for students and parents for free from 9am to 5pm, from Saturday to Thursday.
Bangladesh now ranks in the top 20 countries of origin for international students in the United States. Of the 8,249 Bangladeshi students studying in the United States, 5,278 study at the graduate level; a 13.5% increase over the 2017/2018 academic year.
EducationUSA is the official office of the U.S. Department of State for information about studying in the USA. It has a global network of over 400 advising centers. It aims to facilitate free access to information about study opportunities in the United States from Bangladesh.
Advising services and reference materials are available at locations across the country, including at the American Center at U.S. Embassy Dhaka, the Edward M. Kennedy Center for Public Service and the Arts located in Dhanmondi, the American Corner in Chittagong, and the American Corner in Khulna. EducationUSA reference libraries and remote advising are accessible at American Corners in Sylhet and Rajshahi.
