92% Dhaka people suffer traffic gridlock: BIDS
Around 91.5 percent people of the capital suffer traffic congestion, as it is one of the major problems of the country, according to a recent research.
Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS) conducted the research, titled "A Glimpse into the Lives of the People in Dhaka City", among 3100 households of 31 wards in the capital.
SM Zulfiqar Ali, a senior research fellow of the BIDS, presented the findings of the research at a city hotel today.
The research shows that 66 percent of the city people suffer from air pollution while 61 percent suffer from a lack of pure drinking water.
Around 47.9 percent of the city people suffer from bad road condition and 45.6 percent suffer due to waterlogging.
SM Zulfiqar Ali said, "The research also found that eve-teasing is also a major problem in Dhaka. We found 28.2 percent of the city dwellers suffer eve-teasing."
