Bida OSS gets 8 new services
Bida signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Explosives, Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers, One Bank Limited and Meghna Bank Limited for system integration in this regard
Four more service providers joined the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority's (Bida) online one-stop-service (OSS) portal on Wednesday to provide eight types of services.
Bida signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Explosives, Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers, One Bank Limited, and Meghna Bank Limited, for system integration in this regard.
The Department of Explosives will provide two services: issuance and renewal of explosives licences.
The Office of the Chief Inspector of Boilers will provide four services: No objection certificate for boiler import, boiler registration with the issuance and renewal of a boiler certificate, and change of ownership.
One Bank and Meghna Bank will provide online bank account opening services.
"Bida is working towards providing a maximum of services," said Mohsina Yasmin, a Bida executive member. "We have already integrated 56 services from 18 companies. However, despite so many arrangements, not many are coming to us to avail these services."
She noted that it is not enough to sign an MoU. A quick implementation is also needed with the effective use of technologies from the OSS, to provide quality service to investors.
Bida has already signed MoUs with 35 organisations, 18 of which are providing 56 services from their OSS platform.
