Stephen King announces to quit Facebook
King’s news of exit from Facebook comes several weeks after he was bombarded by woke outrage on social media following his benign remark suggesting that diversity should not take precedence over quality in art.
Acclaimed American author Stephen King has announced today that he is quitting Facebook. King made the announcement from his Twitter account saying that he took the decision as the social media platform is awash with falsified information.
He also said that his departure was motivated by the "flood of false information that's allowed in its political advertising", as well as due to a lack of confidence in the platform's ability to protect its users' privacy.
However, King wrote on the tweet that his fans can still follow him on Twitter.
