Met office predicts Nor'westers, flooding in March
Heat waves are likely to sweep over the country at the end of the month
Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasts nor'westers (locally known as Kalbaishakhi), thunderstorms and flooding in March in its long-term weather forecasts for March 2020.
The northern, central and north-eastern regions are likely to face moderate to severe nor'westers, as the geographically nor'wester prone areas of the country. Besides, light to moderate storms accompanied by hail and thunder may hit the other parts of the country, Meteorologist Ruhul Kuddus confirmed.
Moreover, heat waves are likely to sweep over the country at the end of the month.
Normal rainfall is expected throughout the month.
Day temperature will be below 34-36 degrees which is less than the normal temperature while temperature at night may remain above-normal throughout the month.
At the last quarter of the month, expected heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding in the country's north-eastern regions.
