2 new corona patients are in good health: IEDCR
IEDCR also made it mandatory for all returnees of infected countries to stay in quarantine to prevent spread of coronavirus
The two newly found coronavirus infected patients, who recently returned from Italy and Germany, are in good health, said The Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) today.
"Three other coronavirus patients in Bangladesh will be discharged from hospital soon as they have recovered completely," said IEDCR Director Professor Dr Meerjady Sabrina Flora in a briefing.
"A total of 2,314 people are in quarentine nationwide whereas 10 have been placed in the isolation units of different hospitals and four people are on institutional quarantine," she added.
IEDCR also made it mandatory for all returnees of infected countries to stay in quarantine to prevent spread of coronavirus.
The family members and neighbours should help the returnees to stay in strict quarantine, Dr Flora further said.
IEDCR has collected 213 smaples to test coronavirus till now, she added.
On March 8, Bangladesh reported its first three cases of coronavirus.
Death toll from coronavirus or COVID-19 which is believed to have originated late last year in China has reached to 5,833 globally as of Sunday. Besides, 156,396 cases were reported from around the world.
