Star Cineplex shuts down due to Covid-19 outbreak
The movie theatres will remain closed from March 25 to April 2
Bangladesh's largest multiplex chain Star Cineplex has shut down its operations due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. The movie theatres will remain closed from March 25 to April 2 across Dhaka.
"We have decided to temporarily close down in accordance with the guidelines of our public health authorities. This will come in effect from the 20th of March till 2nd of April 2020 and will be implemented at our branches in Bashundhara City Shopping Complex, Shimanto Shambhar and SKS Tower." Cineplex said in a statmenet released today.
Mahbub Rahman Ruhel, Chairman of Showmotion Limited owner of Star Cineplex, confirmed that their priority is the health and safety of their customers and employees, as they always maintain high level of hygiene.
Ruhel also hoped that they can open theaters soon.
"We convey our gratitude for being understanding of this situation and wish to welcome you back as soon as we can. Until then, please be safe and take care of yourselves" he added.
