Police restrict movement of residents in Old Dhaka building
Two tenants of the building showed symptoms of coronavirus
Police on Tuesday morning restricted the movement of residents living in a building of Becharam Dewri area in Old Dhaka after two of its tenants showed symptoms of coronavirus.
"The neighbours informed us that a woman and her daughter in the building have been sick for the last two to three days," Moudud Hawladar, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station, told The Business Standard.
"They have fever, cold and cough. We went to the spot and informed the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control and Research to collect their samples," he added.
After the IEDCR collected their samples, police restricted the movement of the residents living in the building.
The city corporation councillor of the area also went to the spot and hung a red cloth in front of the building to mark it as dangerous so that people stay away.
