703 children receive measles-rubella vaccines in Bandarban
A child named Dutiya Mrow died of measles in Puraton Lailla Para under ward no-8 of Sadar upazila
Measles-rubella vaccines were given to 703 children from remote areas of Lama upazila in Bandarban.
Upazila Health and Family welfare officer Dr Mohamudul Haque said, "A measles-rubella outbreak suddenly occurred in remote hilly places of Lama. We vaccinated 703 children of the infected areas of the upazila today. The children were aged between six months to under 15 years. Three medical teams gave the vaccines to them.
Recently, a child named Dutiya Mrow died of measles in Puraton Lailla Para under ward no-8 of Sadar upazila.
After the incident, 33 children from the area were admitted to Upazila Health Complex who suffered from measles. They went home after recovering.
An eight-member probe committee led by Upazila Health and Family Welfare Officer Mohamudul Haque was formed to look into the incident.
