Sharif got into an altercation with the teenage gang’s leaders Shakil and Lalon over their taking drugs and making scuffles in front of his shop
Members of a teenage gang have allegedly hacked a businessman to death in broad daylight for he protested their unruly behaviour.
The incident took place at around 11 am today at Adarshanagar in Fatullah of Narayanganj.
The deceased was identified as Sharif Hossain, 30, son of Alal Matabbar from Adarshanagar. He was the owner of Brishty Electronics at the area.
Police and relatives said Sharif got into an altercation with the teenage gang's leaders Shakil and Lalon over their taking drugs and making scuffles in front of his shop.
On Wednesday morning, one of the members called Sharif over his phone to get out of his house. When he came out, 10-12 members chopped him indiscriminately that left him dead on the spot.
The killers have been identified through a CCTV footage and several police teams are working to arrest them, said Mehedi Imran Siddiqui, additional superintendent of Narayanganj police (A-Zone).
Mother of the deceased Rahima Begum claimed that these teenagers, backed by some influential people, have been doing criminal activities in the area for a long time. "But police never arrested them."
