Crisis in poultry, dairy sector: Ministry to open control room
The control room will remain open from 9am to 5pm everyday and take immediate steps through hotline for resolving the problems over transportation and distribution of poultry and dairy products including milk and eggs
Fisheries and Livestock Ministry is set to open a control room at the Department of Livestock Services in the city's Farmgate area on Saturday aiming to resolve the crisis in poultry and dairy sector of the country following coronavirus outbreak.
The control room will remain open from 9am to 5pm everyday and take immediate steps through hotline for resolving the problems over transportation and distribution of poultry and dairy products including milk and eggs.
The decision was taken in a meeting with the top officials of the Livestock Services Department at their office on Thursday.
The department also decided to conduct awareness programmes against rumours regarding meat, milk and egg amid the coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak.
Secretary to the ministry Rownak Mahmud presided over the meeting where other top officials were present.
