'Not thinking much about any particular player': Shakib unfazed by Rashid return
Shakib looked unfazed by the return of Rashid, saying that they are not thinking much about any individual player, instead they want to put up their best performance.
The one-off Test match between Afghanistan and Bangladesh last month saw Shakib and Rashid missing out due to injuries. Now, in the T20I series, the two superstars will lead their teams in a series which promises to be a blockbuster.
Bangladesh's record at home has been commendable as they lost only one out of last seven bilateral series in their backyard. The pitch in Sylhet has helped the batters of late and the likes of Litton Das, Rony Talukdar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy have enjoyed batting there.
But the Afghanistan bowling attack will pose problems like no other team. They have arguably the best spin attack in the world. Bangladesh batters struggled big time against Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman in the ODIs and they will again challenge Shakib and his team. Noor Ahmad, who lit up the stage in the Indian Premier League (IPL) could be in action as well.
Rashid Khan didn't play the last game. However, Rashid, who is currently the No. 1 T20 bowler, will be back with his favourite format.
Shakib looked unfazed by the return of Rashid, saying that they are not thinking much about any individual player, instead they want to put up their best performance.
"When we think much about the opponents, any particular player or condition, we couldn't play well. I believe the players are just thinking about how to perform well. They are not thinking much about any player or opponents."
