Monem Munna’s jerseys sold for over five lakh taka
Munna’s iconic no. 2 jersey was put up for auction with a base price of taka two lakh and on Saturday night it was sold for three lakh.
With the entire world suffering due to the coronavirus pandemic, sports has come to a screeching halt for the past few months everywhere.
Things continue to get worse in Bangladesh with the rate of infection only increasing and the death toll rising every day.
That has led to all sports being called off and postponed indefinitely but sportspersons from all over the country have been stepping up to help those badly affected by this pandemic.

The latest sportsperson to do so was late footballer Monem Munna's wife Shurovi Monem and referee Tayeb Shamsuzzaman.
Munna's iconic no. 2 jersey was put up for auction with a base price of taka two lakh and on Saturday night it was sold for three lakh.
Another jersey of Munna's from his days at Abahani was also put up for auction and eventually sold for two lakh ten thousand taka by HSBC bank CEO Mahbubur Rahman.
Tayeb's jersey's base price was also two lakh and it was eventually sold for five lakh 55 thousand by Nasim Faruq from Satkhira.
During the live auction which was streamed from Facebook, Munna's wife said: "If Munna was alive, he would have done a lot more to help those in need. Some people messaged me and suggested I put Munna's jersey up for auction as it would help those badly affected by the coronavirus."
